I'm taking Susan Sorrell's Personal Symbols class at www.joggles.com , and spirals keep coming up for me.
This piece is stitched on painted batting with gold rubber stamped spirals on it. The big spirals are also painted batting machine stitched down then the hand stitching was added. Standing in line at a craft store, I saw and couldn't resist the spiral sequins-now finally a place for them. They are hand stitched in place. Cross stitches fill the background.
No matter how I tried to bead the spirals, they just refused, so the beads hold the binding in place. It was a fun piece to do.

I LOVE the colors. I like spirals too:) Dyeing batting was something on my list to do last summer but never got to it, you've inspired me to get it done this summer!
