Class

These are 3 of my samples from a Sheer Magic class at www.joggles.com with Janet Clark.

It was fun to do and used some of my sheer stash!

I don't know why I can get on today, but I decided to schedule this extra blog. If I haven't comment on your blog, it's because the thing won't let me unless there is a feature that I can do it with just my name. Maybe it's telling me that 5 years is enough of blogging, but I enjoy having the need to come up with items to show.

Blogger

I'm still having a lot of trouble with blogger, so if I disappear, that is why. I don't know why it let me on today, but it hasn't for weeks. Luckily, I had scheduled things in advance.

The new puppy needs lots of time, so that is one thing I have to do right now. He's a handful, but so was Jake to start, and he turned into the best dog. Mike is enrolled in puppy school now and starts next month.

Jewelry

I seem to be in bracelet mode. This one is on a grosgrain ribbon and makes use of the rings I seem to like to buy. It became very formal, so I edged it with the picot stitch.

Jewelry

Quite a while ago, I put together "kits" for myself to make some bracelets on grosgrain ribbon. I like to organize a number of projects when I have everything out and only make the mess once. No wonder the reporter for the Los Angeles Times called me a left brained/right brained artist!

They have been sitting around while I made felted cuffs for the Bead Journal Project. Now I'm catching up with them. This one is on a 2" ribbon. The rectangular shapes are shell. It seemed to need the edging to contain it.

Art and Soul Class

This book from my classes at Art and Soul was given by Liz Kettle-a fun and good teacher that I plan to take from again. The base is felted and then tons of hand stitching was added. I probably went over the top but coudn't stop.

It was the perfect class for me when I was trying to get back on track after my companion dog died.

I only took one other class and am not sure when I'll get back to that class as a new puppy is coming to live with us tomorrow. He's an adorable, round German Shepherd.

Book

Doris Arndt taught this book class at Art and Soul in Portland. I've taken from her before and enjoy her classes.
Sorry about the glare-it's the shiny paint I used.

Here are the two covers. We carved into the book board to create depth for the images. They aren't added on. That was the first time I'd done that.

We did washes for the inside pages. I used Stonehenge paper.

Bead Journal Project

Here is the bracelet for October. The felted base is sort of more spring like, so I put the picot edging on it to keep the flower feel. The pearls are surrounded by an assortment of beads from my stash.

Painting

Thanks for all the sympathy on the loss of my furry friend. I'll never forget him.

Why is it when you are in classes for 4 days that a month's worth of things pile up? I've been trying to catch up. The garden is still producing, but the rains have started. Definitely a soup day!

All along I've been painting lace and cheesecloth to add to my stash, since they make an interesting background to stitch on. These are the latest ones.

Classes

I'm off to Art and Soul in Portland and badly need the distraction and positive vibes.
My friend and companion made his last trip to the vet on Sept. 24 at age 13yrs. 1 month. We were with him until it was over. He was the best natured dog.  I hurt.

Stitchery

Here is the second piece I've done inspired by the class with Susan Sorrell at www.joggles.com  It's also from my astonomy book of the night sky.

The background is a painted silk scarf section. The stitchery is done in Perle Cotton. On to number 3.
