Beads

Here are some of the beads I made for the course I'm taking from The Thread Studio. The dark ones with the green are fabric with glitter glue added. The glue has dried completely and isn't tacky to the touch, so it works. I like glitter glue. The thin bluish ones are painted Tyvek. Some of the wire ones have yarn wound with the wire. They are fun to make and would be good on a journal.

Here is the Nature Inspired quiltie I received from Pat of Unlimited Textiles. It is so yummy in person.

Take It Further

This is the small piece I made for April for the Take If Further Challenge organized by Sharonb http://sharonb.wordpress.com I don't care for browns, so it's quilted in a variegated blue.

Thanks to everyone who comments. I really enjoy hearing from everyone and try to get back to them, if I can find a way.

Quiltie

This month's theme for the quiltie exchange is Nature Inspired. I used the thread lace background on dyed fabric with silk leaves hand stitched using metallic thread. The flower is crocheted and attached with beads.

Shopping

I meet with a friend yesterday for shopping and lunch-so much fun. The book is all photos about Ema Nobuko who does marvelous things with the embellisher-good eye candy.
I want to try the new crimped Angelina fibers.
And, finally, batiks-I love them-and a silk hankie. We were at Fabric Depot- the store with 1 1/2 acres of things! and a machine dealership where she teaches. I wish we lived closer together. We were so busy talking and showing each other what we are doing that the time passed too quickly.

Tags

I was having one of those days where I just couldn't get going, so I made tags. The dimensional shapes are either glue blobs or air dry clay. Both are fun to work with and take acrylic paint just fine. Both were highlighted with rub on color like Treasure Gold.

Hanging

I finally did something with a needlepoint that had been sitting around here forever. It is lightly quilted and bordered in wool fabric strips.

TIF Challenge

Before a Nancy Crow workshop, we were to come up with some motifs to work with. I've gone back to one of them for this month's TIF organized by Sharonb http://sharonb.wordpress.com/

Since the colors are not mine, I think I will do a 4 patch. Here are some possibilities. Now to choose. Any opinions?
1 2 3

4 5
6 7I must explore this block some more. It seems to have lots of scope. And, finally, the latest addition to the family. They are a week old now.

TIF Challenge, Workshop

It's April, so there is a new challenge. Again I'm going with the color scheme and picked these fabrics. These are really ones I wouldn't pick, so this will"take it further". The link to Sharonb is http://sharonb.wordpress.com
This is another design from the workshop in March. We were to use color to portray a season. This is Spring.
