Swaps

This month's theme for the Unlimited Textiles Yahoo group was Birds, Butterflies, and Bees. See what June sent me. The birds are fused with inked legs and feet. Isn't the beaded tassel clever? Val http://homeleightigger.blogspot.com sent this postcard for the Calendar Girls http://calendargirls2008.blogspot.com exchange. It's pieced and machine embroidered and very lovely. The mail yesterday was super.

Exchanges

This month for Unlimited Textiles the theme is Kandinsky. I don't like all his art but do like the geometric pieces, so that's what I worked from. The background is wool and the appliques are Ultrasuede. A leather needle really helps when trying to sew Ultrasuede.

Gifts, Swaps

Isn't this lovely? It is even richer in person. It's this month's exchange for Calendar Girls and is from Carolt http://postcards-and-stuff.blogspot.com/

I'm taking Ratty Tatty Papers from Dale at The Thread Studion, and two of us in Washington exchanged napkins to expand our stash. These are from Patty. The fish are my favorites, but then maybe the oriental one, or the grapes. What fun.

Gifts, Swaps

This year for the Calendar Girls Group http://calendargirls2008.blogspot.com/ we are each picking a calendar photo for one month. This is my version of Jenny's pick of a calendar with the art of Shane Pickett. The background is black wool with needlefelting and silver metallic thread handstitched. He's an artist that was new to me, but I like his work.
Here is my postcard from Lynda http://purplemissus.blogspot.com/. Isn't it wonderful and such a beautiful blue.

And look at what else Lynda sent. Beads-I'm a bead nut-Leaves-one of my favorite things-Velum with words on it-I've been using a lot of that-and foil-the fun stuff. Everything is perfect for what I do. Isn't she great?

Swaps

I'm in 2 swaps this month with Unlimited Textiles. The first is a brooch that is needle felted, machine embroidered, and hand beaded. The theme this month is Passion, and my passion is leaves. The quiltie is whole cloth with hand embroidery. That fabric always said passion to me. I hope my partners like their swaps.
