I added this to my flower sampler. It's done in Perle Cotton and is only about 1/2".

To see what happens with unusual threads I tried variegated leftover sock yarn on the right. The top is the fuzzy thread. The middle left is a silver knitting ribbon. The bottom is a 1/2" wide variegated ribbon. I like this stitch.
