Quilt

This quilt was done by using masks. I started with a light blue painted fabric and cut freezer paper masks to iron on it. The circles are those dots that are stick on labels. The rings are page reinforcers used in notebooks.

After masking the piece, I used more paint on it. The outer border is a hand dye. The shapes are outlined in hand stitching with Perle Cotton and a matte silk.

Hi Sandy, the shading on your quilt is interesting. I have been working with freezer paper stencils for about six months. I am stuck on them. I did hot wax batik for many years, and the resist process reminds me of batik. Without the mess and health hazards.
