Take a Stitch Tuesday, Tote

Checkered Chain is this week's stitch for Sharonb at http://www.pintangle.com/  I decided to see, if it would work with 3 colors. It does but is hard to pull through the fabric.

I'm using up leftover again, and Blogger decided the photo should be sideways. I had the stitched pieces and sewed them on denim from old jeans. I also had strips sewn together that became the sides. The other side is the same. At least that's one more thing out of the studio, although I do have so many totes!

Take A Stitch Tuesday, Tote

This week's stitch at Sharonb's blog http://www.pintangle.com/ is the Cup Stitch.
It's easy to work and could add lots of texture to a piece. It's quite small, so it would take quite a few but the threads could be varied for a sumptious area.

I finally finished up a crazy quilt piece that has been around for a long time. The stitching is done on the machine using those decorative stitches we never know what to do with.  The closure is dicroic glass button that I found at a gift shop that was going out of business. I love a bargain which it was but would prefer that the businesses would survive.

Tote

I saw a tote like this on Marie's blog http://zquilts.blogspot.com and decided I needed to make myself one. It's a pattern from www.thecreativethimble.com and has 10 pockets! Just the thing for someone who wants to organized her world. There is lots of sewing on this, but I learned several new ways to do pockets. Now, do I keep it or give it as a gift?
