Postcards

http://www.threecreativestudios.com/ has a Technique of the month challenge. This time it was to use up scraps sitting around the studio. Our quilt group gives little gifts at our December meeting. The two made me think of doing postcards.
All are mounted on Tintex to give them body. I had some samples of ribbon or lace flowers sitting in a box, so they ended up on three.

I have lots of bits and pieces of ribbon-can't throw away pretty stuff.

All are edged with yarn mostly zigzagged to the edge unless it was a flat ribbon as it was on the two red cards.

Machine Embroidered leaves worked too. Now I'm ready for the meeting.

Postcards

Isn't this wonderful? It came from Marie http://zquilts.blogspot.com . I love her artwork, and now I have a postcard with this fanciful cat. It was such a pleasure to get the mail. Another totally perfect postcard that came in the mail is this one from Pippa http://hippopip.blogspot.com as part of the exchange for http://calendargirls2008.blogspot.com It's all about having to kiss many frogs before we found our prince. Mine has taken care of me very well lately, so I think I'll keep him. It's over 44 years now-how did that happen? I'm not old enough.
Pippa also made the fun envelope to put it in and the buttons. They are very lightweight and will be great to us.

It's so nice to have such friends.
