Beading

I just had to make another woven bracelet. The idea this time was to create a base and bead the heck out of it. Once the base was made, I liked the regularity of it and how it showed the hand painted thread, so the beading will have to go on another one.

Knitting

At the Wearable group This month, we were shown how to do the ruffle scarf with the new special yarns. This is the one I did. It was not as easy as most of the knitting I do, because I throw my yarn. I've started another and an picking the yarn this time. There are so many wonderful yarns out there now.

Felting

Here's another felted card I made and sent off in a decorated envelope. I should have photographed the envelope before addressing it, so that's why parts are covered. I seem to be in a felting mood and bought more roving at the Quilt group sale.

Studio

I found this nice hanging basket at Goodwill. It is perfect for my purse wall for the ones that don't have a strap.
This is the view looking up from the studio to the main level of our house. I collect old purses and display the ones that aren't too fragile. Included are ones I've made or been given. It sure beats hiding them in a drawer and this way I can enjoy them.

The dog holder was given to me by a good friend.

I found the bunny holder at a garage sale.

Needlefelting

What to do with your leftover felt pieces. This was a tiny scrap but it fit perfectly into a small card opening. I added some beads to create interest.

Class

Blogger is playing with me again and these are sideways. Oh well, it wins this time. This is the second book I made in Margaret Applin's class at www.joggles.com  It was a lot of fun to try different ways to decorate the pages and bind the two books.

Inside each page is a pocket to store treasures. The size of the pages could be altered-must try that.

Charity

This is a group of the Chemo caps I knit and give to anyone who needs them or has a family member/friend in need. I have plenty right now. I hope none of my readers have the need, but if you do get in contact on my blog, and I will send one or two.

I knit these all the time to fill moments when other things don't work and was on the last of my yarn when I went to Joanne's Saturday. I think it's meant that I do this, because there were two colors of the Fun Fur that I use that were on sale for 75 cents each. It takes 60 grams for a medium and the ball is 50 grams-good marketing! I also had leftovers at home and can make two of each color now.

Bead Journal Project

Here is the April Bead Journal Project. It's a glass piece on Ultrasuede which is stitched to the batik background. The stitching follows the lines in the glass and extends them.

Family

More things to keep me from the studio. We had a wind storm which brought down this tree.

The big dog is 70 lbs. to give you an idea of the size of the tree. The good thing about it is it didn't hit any structures but the fence which is an easier repair. We chopped and stacked the limbs, cut up the trunk. Now we have fire wood for next winter.

While carry all these sections, I noticed some wonderful design possibilities.

Accordion Book

Here are the two sides of the accordion book I made in Margaret Applin's class at www.joggles.com  I do like to make books.

Class

I transferred some of the screen printed on deli paper images to my book pages. The black image is from a Dover book.

The fish is a Thermofax screen image given me by Wendy Huhn when she taught a class for Columbia Fiberarts Guild several years ago. Fish swim through all the pages on that side of the book.

I do love online classes. They give me something to look forward to and a way to learn new things without hauling tons of stuff-never the right stuff either-and driving long ways on the freeway.

Gift

Look at what my daughter made for me for my birthday last week. Isn't it beautiful? It also goes with most of my wardrobe. We had a great day together mostly playing with the puppies.

To see other things she has done, use the Karen button on the right.

Class

One thing I have managed to do was make more stamps in the kitchen while monitoring the puppy dinner time.
This is an easy and fun way to do it that I learned at Margaret Applin's class at www.joggles.com
