Bead Journal Project

Here is March for the Bead Journal Project. The background is felted rovings on felted wool. Then I machined the circles. I had the glass circle and was deciding what to do to accent it, when I spilled the beads accidentally. They fell into the stitched circles and looked like that was where they belong, so that's where I put them. The glass circle is attached with a heavy metallic thread, then the center was filled with beads.

Lovely! I especially like the way you used different kinds of beads to outline the stitched circles. My first thought would have been to use all the same kind of beads. You have made me look outside my self-imposed box.

what an interesting piece to look at. i kept following the circles round and round. i can't imagine sewing all those circles! how funny the beads told you where they wanted to go. they do have minds of their own sometimes, don't they? and they seem to always be right. nice job!

Neat piece. Did you sew the circles free form or with the foot down. Either way, magnificent control. I really like this peace.

I love the beads in the stitching valleys. I can barely get my Fiberactions piece done and you whip out a bead journal project too!

How serendipitous! I love sewing circles like that, have never thought of adding beads in the valleys. Gorgeous colours too. Cheers, Robin

Sandy, this piece is wonderful! It makes me think of looking down through water that's reflecting a deep blue sky, with pebbles along the bottom of the water. I like the way the bugle beads echo the lines on the glass circle, too.

Like Marty, I too love the different kinds of beads used to outline the stitched circles. How creative! I love the story of how the beads told you where they wanted to go. I think I need to listen to my beads more often. Such a good lesson for me. I can tell your March project will be stunning!
