Journal Quilt

Another Journal Quilt for www.3creativestudios.com I find it hard to believe that the year is almost up, and I've made a Journal quilt for each week. Now--what do you do with 52 Journal quilts? My quilt group will each get to pick one as their Christmas present, but that still leaves 40 of them/39 of them. I gave one to my doctor this week for putting up with me. Any ideas?

This is another fused one using a print fabric with fish motifs. The leaves are freehand cut and machined in place. It is machine quilted and edged with a zigzag over yarn. When I do that type of edge, I go around two times at least so it looks full enough and covers the raw edge. A permanent fabric pen works to cover any batting still showing.

You made one per week? Great. I wonted to make one per month and have only made five.
You can be happy!
Sell your quilts at etsy ore give them as a donation to a children's or nursing home. Or put them on your own wall :-)

I love this little piece of art and thanks for the hint about the edging. I do the double row of stitching but some added thread would reinforce it.

It's nice and colorful-cheerful. Wow, a mini-quilt/week for a whole year! Fabulous. I wonder how they'd look with each having a colored border and joined together to make a quilt? or two? They'd certainly make unique name tags for Christmas presents, or maybe place mats? They could be made into a quilt book. Oh, now you've got my brain working.

Beautiful! Congratulations on creating one every week! I see you already have the suggestion of opening your own shop. You could group them and hang them so that you flip through them on the wall. Perhaps group them by color or theme or technique. You could flip them up to look through each group. The same could be done for a coffee table 'installation'. In the meantime enjoy them and thanks for letting us enjoy them!

What a great idea to give one of the quilts to your group members! I have no idea what I am doing with mine! On top of that I am already behind a week again!
